How do you take baby food with you on the go?
Heading out for a day trip or a holiday with your baby? Then you will need to feed your baby more often along the way. How do you bring the baby food, and how do you keep it good in your diaper bag? Or do you need to pack a separate cool box?
When you head out for a holiday or a day trip with your little prince or princess, you quickly end up with a lot of extra luggage. Diapers, wipes, a high chair, a stroller and clothes. On top of thinking about what your baby needs during the trip, there is also the journey itself.
If you are in the car for several hours or longer, you will have to feed your hungry baby on the road too. At the service station you will find a sandwich and a cup of coffee for yourself, but most likely nothing for your baby.
Prepared formula does not stay good for long. How do you keep it cool, and how do you warm it up? How do you feed your baby on the go?
Bottle feeding your baby on the go
You would rather not take ready-made formula with you. The advice of the Dutch Nutrition Centre (Voedingscentrum, in the Netherlands): bring pre-measured powder and boiled water in a thermos separately, and only make up the bottle right before your baby is going to drink. That way the feed stays fresh and safe.
This also means you do not have to drag a cool box along. That helps, because for a day out the diaper bag, clothes, changing essentials and more already have to come with you.

What do you take along to feed your baby on the go?
To feed your baby on the go, put a thermos of boiled water, a bottle of cold water, formula powder and of course the bottle in the MIMMTI diaper bag. That way you leave home prepared. It is best to make up the bottle only once your baby wants to drink.
If you bring boiled water in a thermos, you can mix it with the cold water in the bottle until you reach the right temperature. You can of course also bring water at the right temperature in the thermos. The downside is that the hot water in a thermos also cools down a little over time.
It is best to portion the formula powder at home. A special container for the powder is ideal for this, for example a formula dispenser tower. This also makes it easy to prepare a bottle of porridge on the go.
Another option is ready-to-drink formula. It comes in cartons that you store outside the fridge, so all you have to do is warm it up.
